Three SWBOCES staff members recognized for their dedication to HOSA
Robert Del Greco, Howard Hamilton and Anchelle Allen served as local HOSA advisors
Three Southern Westchester BOCES educators were recognized this month by New York HOSA - Future Health Professionals for their outstanding service and dedication to the organization, which supports students interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare field.
Robert Del Greco, Howard Hamilton and Anchelle Allen served as local HOSA advisors at the Center for Career Services during the 2024-25 school year.
Del Greco, who teaches Emergency Medical Services, has also served as a valuable member of New York HOSA’s Board of Trustees and conference staff. At this year’s Spring Leadership Conference, he played a key role organizing and overseeing competitive events, and the conference agenda, and also assisted with several other aspects of the conference.
At the HOSA Leadership Conference, Del Greco also helped support New York HOSA in assigning proctcoring placement for competitive testing.
“He dedicated many hours to ensure that your students were well-prepared to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and we are truly grateful for his commitment,” said Dr. Margaret Savitzky, New York HOSA State Advisor.
Hamilton and Allen, who are Teaching Assistants at Career Services, were responsible for preparing students for HOSA’s Fall and Spring Leadership Conferences and for serving as chaperones during the organization’s International Leadership Conference, which was held in June in Nashville.
New York HOSA added 46 new chapters during the school year and now reaches more than 1,700 students. The International Leadership Conference was HOSA’s largest yet, with more than 10,000 students competing, including several from Southern Westchester BOCES.
“We understand that HOSA advisors often take on multiple responsibilities during events, and we deeply appreciate their efforts or promote fairness and excellence across all activities,” Dr. Savitzky said. “Thanks to professionals like Robert, Howard and Anchelle, New York HOSA has become the outstanding organization it is today.”
