Career Services Mixer brings students together to share knowledge

The Center for Career Services hosted a Student Council Mixer.

Programs demonstrated some of what they learned for classmates

With dance music blaring and students enjoying lawn games, ice cream and more on a sun-splashed morning, this week’s Student Council Mixer was a fun exclamation point to a successful 2024-25 school year at the Center for Career Services.

Students interacted with classmates during the Student Council Mixer. The event also served an additional purpose.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to be recognized for all their hard work during the year,” Principal Jaclyn De Lao said. “But each program also got to show classmates some of what they’ve learned during the year.”

Students from Commercial Art were sketching pictures of classmates and staff members. Barbering students provided haircuts, and Cosmetology students gave hair treatments. TV/Video Production students took photos in front of a green screen. Sound Production students helped with audio as instructor Sean Harty walked through the lawn and asked partygoers questions.

There were numerous other opportunities for students and staff to interact. In fact, the Animal Science program had pythons, lizards and rats that guests lined up to hold.
