The free annual event, sponsored by the Rock ‘N’ Rods Car Club of New York, brought together car enthusiasts from all over the area to marvel at an impressive lineup of vintage cars while offering  tours of the Career and Technical Education training facilities.

Students from the SWBOCES Center for Career Services programs were stationed around the busy event, demonstrating the professional trade skills they have gained in their classes this year. Culinary Arts students grilled and prepared lunch for visitors, while Cosmetology students eagerly showed off their skills in braiding, manicures, hair extensions, and makeup artistry. Emergency Medical Services students took blood pressure readings and practiced lifesaving skills and techniques they will use out in the field.

The event offered students in their chosen programs, such as Automotive and Collision Technology, Cosmetology, Emergency Medical Services, or Culinary Arts, the opportunity to practice their skills on a wider audience beyond their teachers, families, and classmates.

The Car Show featured a range of vehicles from different eras, including some of the most iconic models from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Visitors were treated to rows of colorful classic vehicles with sleek curves, shiny chrome, and pristine paint jobs. Many visitors took the opportunity to chat with car owners, who were more than happy to share their knowledge and passion for classic vehicles.

The event was a true collaborative effort that brought together the community and local vintage car enthusiasts and highlighted the students' professional skills and the many opportunities at SWBOCES Center for Career Services.
