Advertising and Graphic Design program travels to the Museum of Modern Art

Students visited the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan. On Tuesday, Feb. 3, students in the Center for Career Services Advertising and Graphic Design program traveled to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City for an immersive learning experience. The class trip connected classroom instruction with real-world examples of professional design, fine art, and visual communication.

While exploring MoMA’s fourth and fifth floors, students viewed a diverse collection of modern and contemporary works. As they moved through the galleries, they examined how artists and designers use composition, color, typography, symbolism, and visual storytelling to convey ideas and emotion. Students also identified design principles discussed in class, including creative use of space, bold layouts, and strong visual contrast.

The visit allowed students to engage with influential artwork up close, expand their creative perspectives, and find inspiration for future projects.

“Overall, the MoMA trip was an engaging and valuable learning experience that supported the goals of the Advertising and Graphic Design curriculum,” instructor Damian Powers said.
