With AI-generated artwork, students create, sell holiday cards
Office Skills students spread cheer with holiday-themed cards
Students in the Medical Office and Office Skills classes recently took part in a creative, real-world learning experience through a holiday card project that blended communication skills, technology and entrepreneurship.
As part of a larger communications lesson, these Center for Career Services students explored the use of artificial intelligence by creating and testing multiple prompts to generate original images for their holiday cards, which was an exciting first for the program. Each student designed at least eight unique cards, offering a variety of styles including blank interiors, general holiday greetings and personalized, custom-request designs.
The project extended beyond design and production. Students also practiced their sales’ skills by visiting classrooms and offices throughout campus to showcase and sell their cards to students and staff. This hands-on component provided valuable experience in verbal presentation, customer service, persuasive communication and money-handling skills.
“The cards turned out beautifully, and the students were thrilled to see their AI-generated artwork come to life in print,” instructor Jason Poniatowski said.
