Student takes first place in eSchoolData art contest
Wesley Cortes, a junior at New Rochelle High School and Commercial Art student at the Center for Career Services, received the first-place prize among Hudson Valley entries in the fourth annual eSchoolData Login Art Contest. This was the first time a student from the Center was awarded a first place prize in this art contest.
The contest draws students from across New York by region. More than three dozen entries were submitted from the Hudson Valley.
This year, participants submitted work based on the theme of “Art in STEM.” Students were instructed to illustrate art in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
First-place winners will have their work as the background image in the eSchoolData log-in page and both the parent and student portal log-in pages. All winning submissions can be viewed at www.eschooldata.com/artists-gallery. In addition, Wesley received a $500 cash prize.
eSchoolData is a management system provided by Illuminate Education. The art contest was started as a way to promote local art and provide monetary awards to winning entries.
