On the road
Trip to SUNY campus allows students to explore options
It was an early morning for 41 students and 5 staff members at the BOCES Center for Career Services.
They were on the road at 7 a.m. on Nov. 13 for one of several college exploratory trips that are planned throughout the school year according to School Counselor Maynor Loria.
On this trip the group traveled to SUNY Morrisville. The college is located in central New York and required a 5-hour bus ride, which included a bit of inclement weather.
The purpose of the trip was to offer students an opportunity to explore their options for future studies following high school. SUNY Morrisville is a good choice as many of the degree programs offered are similar to the selection of classes at Career Services. Several Career Services graduates have continued their education at SUNY Morrisville, earning associates and bachelor’s degrees in animal science, CAD, culinary arts, engineering, hospitality and restaurant management, criminal justice, equine science and rehabilitation and automotive.
